Manikin based store security

Mannequins have been used for years as "silent salespeople" allowing store customers to envision themselves in the clothing and/or products displayed on the mannequins.

While display mannequins have been effective in increasing product sales offering a three-dimensional view of product and/or clothing.

This idea uses the standard CCTV security systems that are typically mounted in ceilings and walls providing store management to observe and record suspicious customer behaviour. This system brings those monitoring cameras closer to the store floor. The cameras are mounted as a part of the display mannequins and probably in the eye cavity area.

The benefits here include:

(1) The increase in the flexibility of observation points.

(2) The cameras are closer to the shop floor providing better security management.

(3) By simply relocating or redirecting the mannequins (as a part of a marketing campaign say) the store is able to shift CCTV points without expensive electrical and change to fixtures.

Train Platform Pedestrian Control Light

Ref: JCD0002122010

The idea here is that when a train arrives and stops at a platform, lights near and under the automatic doors project a light (chosen colour) onto the platform. Commuters waiting to board the train are requested to stand behind the projected light - allowing passengers to alight the train with safety. Once the light goes out (perhaps controlled by the conductor) commuters can bored the train.

More than a single light colour may be used to manage passengers alighting or boarding a train. Other than a projected light, arrows or other instructions (words, symbols, etc) may be projected onto the floor of the platform based on local cultural conventions.

Medical Incubator - Urinalysis As You Pee

Jack Dikian
December 2010

Ref: JCD0001122010

The idea here is that if you are aware of, predisposed to, or at risk of a medical (and other drug related) condition that is diagnosable through a course urinalysis instrument – then depending on the condition that is target, a urine diagnostic agent is allowed to be immersed into the toilet tank system.

When an individual uses the toilet the colour of the water in the bowl would change thus providing and/or perform a urinalysis every time the toilet is used.

This is a course assessment and is not designed to replace the finer and more targeted urinalysis achieved by specific battery of assessments.

It is conceivable that as well as providing indication of a medical condition or status such as that of salt levels, glucose, etc…it may also be used to indicate pregnancy, use of illicit drugs, and other...

Specifics assessment for the following may be possible:

  • Urine specific gravity
  • Osmolality
  • Urobilinogen
  • Red blood cells
  • RBC Casts
  • White blood cells
  • Ph
  • Protein
  • Glucose
  • Ketone bodies
  • Bilirubin
  • Blood
  • Nitrite
  • Sodic
  • Potassium
  • Calcium
  • Phosphate
  • Cretinine
  • Catecholamines

Potential applications:

MEDICAL
INDUSTRIAL including detection for specific drugs, alcohol, and banned substances
SPORTING including detection for specific drugs, alcohol, and banned substances
HOSPITALITY including detection for specific drugs, alcohol, and banned substances
